A small pinch in my left deltoid on 12-21-20 marks, what I hope is an end to the death, sickness, and pettiness that has enshrouded this country since early 2020.

That small injection, one of two, represents not only an end to this years ongoing nightmare with the virus, but also a farewell to the disarray and mismanagement in the way it was handled from the very begining.

We now have over 18 million cases of COVID19 in the United States alone and it is only now that people I personally know or work with are being infected. Most of them are health care workers.

This is occurring because Americans are incredibly selfish and rarely tie their rights to responsibility. The “can do" spirit of American innovation and greatness has turned into a hollow and rebellious “won’t do" stance against a percieved, but made up threat against personal liberty. And all the while, over 300,00 Americans have died, some because they wanted to protect their freedom more than they valued their health, truth or scientific facts.

Great Leader, in his infinite wisdom, has definitely stirred that shit pot with his blatant lies and carefully crafted conspiracy theories. His followers, a cultish brand of miscreants are still hanging on to him, even as he is sinking further down into a sand trap of his own making.

What I’m trying to convey is that there is renewed hope; with the vaccination and a new administration on the horizon. While we look to the future, we cannot forget the past, this is both, an opportunity and choice to learn from our mistakes as we get back to our routine.
